Boston Police warn residents to watch out for roofies this Thanksgiving

Boston Police are cautioning residents to watch their drinks this Thanksgiving The department issued a warning about spiked beverages ahead of the holiday saying in a announcement that police would like to remind the constituents of the dangerousness of colorless odorless and tasteless drugs Common spiking drugs including Rohypnol also known as roofies GHB and Ketamine can be covertly placed in drinks causing disorientation confusion even temporary paralysis and unconsciousness in those who have been drugged The state of Massachusetts and BPD have issued several warning about spiked drinks in up-to-date years The issue has become so prevalent that earlier this week American Pie-star Tara Reid noted she d been knocked unconscious after being drugged in a Chicago bar over the weekend Reid narrated TMZ that she had ordered a drink at the hotel bar she did not name the hotel and left it to smoke a cigarette outdoors Upon returning to the bar Reid mentioned she saw a napkin placed on top of her drink Though she ascertained that odd she proceeded to drink it Before I knew it I was in the hospital eight hours later she reported Reid disclosed she was grateful that she was in a populace space when she blacked out expressing her concerns about being sexually assaulted if she had been in a private space instead I don t know what that stuff was but whatever it is it knocked me out without delay she revealed To stay safe BPD advised only drinking something served directly from a bartender or server They also suggested avoiding accepting drinks from strangers Keep your drink in sight at all times the advisory noted Never leave it unattended In addition to keeping drinks covered police say that drink testing tools can reveal whether a beverage has been tampered with If a resident believes they or someone else has been drugged they should description it to police straightaway Herald wire services contributed Tara Reid Photo by Richard Shotwell Invision AP File
